One particular house I visited was opened by an older man, who looked at the hamper in total disbelief. I could see he had nothing. He answered “you don’t know what this means to my family”, with tears in his eyes. That was a very humbling experience, that same man attended our Christmas Eve Service.

The football on Saturday was pukka and I don’t think any of us could believe how far we got! Also it was quality that you took us to Thorpe Park, me and the lads looked forward to it for ages and it was a top day. I just thought I’d let you know that the things you and the guys at the community centre are doing for us is great, it gives us a place to go on a Friday night and we look forward to doing things with you in the summer.

I received a beautiful hamper put together by the Christian Growth Centre, I was overwhelmed by this gesture and found great comfort in the hidden meaning it had for me. I was offered the opportunity to join the free dance and singing classes held on Thursday evenings by members of CGC. I have been attending them for 6 weeks now and thoroughly enjoy this experience. In a short space of time I have gained a faith and friends I felt I did not previously have and am thankful to the church for this.

Joining Street Team has been one of the most amazing, exciting and scariest things I’ve ever done. Approaching young people on the street is such a buzz and it’s awesome to see them getting involved in events put on by the church, like Raw Café, Street dance and football. I can really see Street team impacting the community in a massive way and I love being part of it.
