The CGC Chelmsford Counselling service is provided by a number of trained and qualified individuals, both male and female, who receive regular supervision and who operate with a range of counselling styles, including prayer counselling.

There are three principal areas in which the counselling service operates.
  1. Individual Sessions (usually lasting around one hour) can be arranged to talk through particular issues/problems. These will mostly be with a single counsellor but if a couple seek counselling together then two counsellors may be used. Topics covered may embrace the whole spectrum of human emotions, including depression, grief, abuse, marital and parenting issues, sexual awareness, self worth etc. This part of the service is offered free to people who are regularly part of CGCC. A small charge may apply to others.
  2. The Marriage Course is a seven part programme of teaching and experiential interaction promoting foundational principles for a healthy marriage. The course is delivered partly via video and partly face to face and enables couples to take time discussing together their relationship and how it could be improved. A number of couples can use the course together without any disclosure of details to anyone except their spouse.
  3. Group Sessions - we are facilitating mutual support group sessions for survivors who have suffered from abuse of any kind. These are run for short periods (about six weeks) and are 'closed' groups, in that no one can join a group after the first week. The groups provide a place of security, safety and support to encourage personal confidence and self esteem and to empower people to control their lives whilst considering positive steps to deal with issues arising from an abused past such as low self-esteem, anger, trust and fear. We also run a course of sufferers of depression
